‘Brahmastra……’ fantasy adventure

‘Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’ One of the most expensive films to be made in India.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt as the lead pair are adorable on screen and tried to carry the entire on their shoulders with their performance. While Ranbir Kapoor gave his best, Alia also impress with her acting.

Legendary actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Shah Rukh Khan are fine in their extended key cameo roles. Mouni Roy registers well with her acting as an evil lady.

The graphics and VFX work done for this mega-budget film is good.

Brahmastra is a fantasy adventure that had an interesting storyline

Ayan Mukerji & his dedication to steering a ship for such a long time almost brought a generational gap in the cinematic approach of his audience

The makers have made sure to retain the grandeur throughout the scenes which in a way also cleverly hides the simpleton nature of the script.

Second half initially crawls but gradually picks up as it goes ahead, the scope to add ‘high points’ was tremendous but missed to maintain the ‘story structure’.

Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna will leave you impressed from the word go. Both the actors were legends in their own right. Nagarjuna’s role is short-lived. But Big B’s character arc is quite interesting and well-written given that the megastar can do anything and everything.

The real find of the film is Mouni Roy. She is simply terrific and really holds herself in this elaborate cast and effortlessly shines as the nemesis.

But at the heart of the film is an incredible performance by Ranbir Kapoor, who doesn’t just play Shiva he becomes him.

Brahmastra is not a perfect film, but it’s a solid and satisfying watch, a well crafted look and a vision of a filmmaker something that needs to applauded and appreciated. The film is a visual feast which needs to be watched on the big screen.
