‘CIRKUS’ not up to the mark….
After finding two sets of identical twins on the doorstep of orphanage Dr. Roy Jamnadas, gives them up for adoption to two different families in two different cities. Parents name all 4 kids Roy (Ranveer Singh), and Joy (Varun Sharma) with a respect to the founders of the orphanage. Years later, Roy-Joy shaping up their lives in Bangalore as businessmen & the other pair of Roy-Joy performing in a circus in Ooty.
The script is inspired from Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors, which was earlier adapted by Gulzar in the 1982 movie, Angoor. More comedy and more work is needed to be done in the screenplay and storywriting of the film.
The VFX in scenes looks amateurish, Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde’s acting was sluggish and inconspicuous. Ranveer in dual roles gives his best, but he is let down by a weak script that doesn’t do justice to his efforts.
As always Background music of the film overall effectively enhances and give the movie great audio visual experience. Dialogues could’ve been better and some more plot points and more elements of comedies should’ve been added in it and more twists and turns in the story.
Rohat Shetty’s direction this time neither surprises nor establishes any relation with the characters of the story. With an entire army of supporting actors in every film the familiar faces of Rohit’s films are here as well and most of these faces make the film boring. Siddharth Jadhav is a victim of over acting.
The technical aspects of the film are also not up to the mark. Jomon T John’s cinematography is very disturbing.
